Love your comments about the books. I’m always looking for a GOOD memoir. Thank you for putting a comment in the comments. Somehow, I found this list, bookmarked it, and found it again months after the fact but there was no identification at the top of the page I bookmarked!

Glad you recognize and appreciate the effort, Herman! And I love the “wet realism”. I must admit, I didn’t get Carver until I read his complete stories … and even then, it took a year or two of simmering for me to really appreciate the taut craftsmanship. I sometimes wonder about the effects of his editor, but heck, it’s Carver’s name on the stories.

P.S. I read up on Mayakovsky this morning BEFORE I got your comment. Serendipity?

Very nice, many of these aren’t anywhere else. Glad you went thru and snagged them. I live in Humboldt, Carver Country. Everywhere one goes there are reminders, the “dirty realism”, here it’s more like “wet realism”, in so many ways, from the rain, the fog, the booze, the tears.
